Zekey turned one!

Yesterday. I cannot believe that only a year ago - he wasn't here. I hadn't even seen his face! Now, I cannot imagine my life without him - I know. That is so cliche. But cliches are overused for a reason. No?

Just think about it: Communication is the key to a healthy relationship... A bird in the hand is better than two birds in a bush... If you fail to plan, you plan to fail...

If we all took cliches to heart, we would probably avoid many mistakes. Like failing to plan a one year old's party. I don't really know what I was thinking. Maybe it was that I knew my mom and MIL were going to be in town to help me. Maybe because I have been so TIRED lately. But I did NOT plan well for Zekey's first birthday party at all! I didn't even invite people that should have been invited (so if you are reading this and didn't get invited - you know why!)

But despite all that, the party went pretty well. I even made the cakes - they were ready an hour and a half AFTER the party started - but I digress.


I really think that the cakes look wack (but I am secretly proud of the home-made look).



Zekey was pretty clueless as to what was going on, but I think that he enjoyed himself.



And the kids did too.




Next year is going to be even better!
