Hot Mess.

Atlantic Station is the new hot spot in Atlanta. It is definitely not my favorite place – but it is really close to home and to work – so we are there very often. There is an unspoken rule that you should wear your best when you are there. A rule, might I add, that I almost never follow. Well, I followed it once, but I am getting ahead of myself.

The reason I dress so bummy when I go there is probably because I dress bummy when I go anywhere. Ever since I got my first apartment, I have been more interested in buying household accessories, than anything – including clothing. And I didn’t have much money to buy anything so I definitely didn’t buy much clothing. Before I moved to Atlanta, I was in college in a small town – so I did not even consider wearing latest fashion.

Well, now that I am in the big city, my fashion faux pas are more apparent to me. On Friday, E and I decided to go to see Superman at Atlantic Station. Well, we had just come from work and I had on my jeans that are kinda loose and kinda tight – but doesn’t fit right at all, a shirt that was just loose, and my shoes that I wear (but shouldn’t) to work.

As soon as we get there, I am reminded of the dress code. It is like 95 degrees out but each girl has on a full face of makeup. They also have on stilettos even though they have to walk everywhere. And I have on some dumb-looking jeans, a retarded shirt and raggedy shoes. I look a hot mess.

It probably wouldn’t bother me as much if it weren’t for the fact that I always look a mess. When we saw that Superman didn’t start until 8:30, I was thinking to myself: Ok, here is my chance to look decent at Atlantic Station. So I go home and look through my closet and…..nothing. I have NOTHING to wear. After much trouble, I resign to wearing my cute versatile shirt that I always wear (you probably recognize it from my b-day pictures), my favorite jeans folded up like my officemate (who has millions of cute outfits I am jealous of), and my gold shoes (that were only $11!) I bought for the cruise. Oh, and I added a gold belt after seeing that the new style is to wear belts on your ‘proper waist’ to exaggerate your figure.

What do you think?

Ok, Here is another one (I didn't want to add it at first because it looks like a before shot of a weightloss ad):
