A crackhead tried to rob us yesterday.

I know what you are thinking... That is what happens when you live in the city.

But really, although our address is "Atlanta" - our street and the surrounding neighborhood looks just like the suburbs. We even have speed bumps!

This is what happened:

E came home from work early to help me take in the groceries from BJ's. We leave both garage doors open - just because - like I said our neighborhood is just like the suburbs.

After he is done bringing in the groceries and I am the groceries up, E goes downstairs through the garage to take the recycled trash out. Meanwhile, a crackhead is right outside our garage kneeling down behind the car. E sees him and approaches him to ask him what he was doing there.

The crackhead sees his cover is blown and stands up and puts his hand underneath his shirt and says something to E like "Dude, if you don't want to die...". E doesn't hear the rest because he rushes back inside and locks the door.

Then he calls the police. Then we call our neighbors. The police arrive 5 minutes later and they along with the neighbors look for the guy.

While all this is going on, we find out the crackhead hit a woman on the head with a hammer and robbed her. Ummm, that could have been me!

Anyway, my next door neighbor who had actually promised me: "I am going to find that F%cker" found him!

And he got arrested. It was a pretty unnerving experience - but I think I would be even MORE unnerved if the guy didn't get caught!
