So, today was Stephanie's baby shower. I know they wanted 'sensible' gifts, but I also wanted it to be creative! So, I decided to make a diaper cake. I watched a couple of youtube videos and learned how to do it. It was my first one and not perfect, but I was pretty proud of it and super excited to show it off.When I got to the shower, I looked around to see if there were any other diaper cakes there - seeing as how they are so popular right now. There were none. I was like "Yessss". I found a nice little spot on the table.
I was pointing at it to my friends *mentally popping my collar* "Yep, I made that."
Not ten minutes later, someone shows up with another diaper cake!
That thing was so huge AND professionally done. It did not even move when the carrier whipped it around - unlike mine that could topple over at any moment. I was so embarrassed. I wanted to take my puny little cupcake and go home. :(.
But I didn't. I told myself that I was probably the only one who noticed AND they were totally different styles anyway. To compare them would be like comparing apples and oranges, right? Well, maybe more like comparing gala apples and granny smith apples. :(.
Still, some people like BOTH gala AND granny smith. And I think (hope) that Stephanie is one of them!

I think your diaper cake is fabulous!!! You're so creative, and although you weren't that confident after seeing the other, know that i absolutely LOVE your cake!!! I'm excited and very honored that you actually took the time to make us something!
