Happy Mother's Day to me!

My first Mother's Day!

First, my mom sent me a very pretty tin of my favorite cookies from Cheryl&Co - the sugar and oatmeal. Yay! E got me some flowers. I got cards from my grandmother-in-law, my mother-in-law, a (surprisingly) sweet and thoughtful one from J (my brother-in-law), and a beautiful one from my dad.

Isn't she so pretty?

Yay, cash!

Also, my grandmother-in-law came over and brought dinner.

So, even though i didn't get the PFAFF ($5k - $6k, was apparently too much, Pfft!) I wanted, I did have a nice Mother's Day.

Craftster

I don't know if you know this (or if he minds my sharing it), but E is pretty much a computer geek. And like all computer geeks, he visits geek-like forums regularly to find information about whatever geeky computer thing he wants to learn.

He asked me while ago, why don't I visit crafty forums. Being ignorant, I told him that crafty people don't do forums like that. We like to craft - not sit in front of a computer all day.

Well, boy was I wrong. There is a great (not geeky - well, sometimes geeky) website for craftsters! Craftsters.org. I think like all the crafty people in the world are on there - well, the ones that speak English, and have internet access...

Anyway, there are a TON of ideas, inspiration, and support. At times, I can't decide if I want to go on there, or go make something.

Jas's Mom

So, an old high school classmate of mine commissioned me to make a doll for her mom for Mother's day. I made her body out of "I Love this Cotton" Yarn (by Hobby Lobby). Hobby Lobby has the BEST yarn. Usually cotton is kinda hard and scratchy - but Hobby Lobby's is a nice, soft texture.

She has boobs, of course. Ever since I made boobs on that pregnant doll - I think I have become obsessed with them. I wouldn't dream of making another flat chested doll (unless it's a kid or a man doll, ha!). Her accessories include: a flower for her hair - attached with a bobby pin, brass bracelets and brass earrings (that have sterling silver ear wires).

The halter dress, which is embellished with wooden beads, is the same as the pregnant girl's dress because I lost the cord to my sewing machine, and was not able to make a pair of jeans, like requested. Luckily, my friend was okay with the crocheted dress.

Motherhood...

is actually, not as hard as I thought. Maybe it's because of the warnings from my family, maybe it's because E is not the type of dad that believes he is above changing diapers, nor is he above waking up in the middle of the night to rock the baby to sleep, or maybe it's because I don't work.

Whatever it is, I am definitely enjoying my little man, despite the fact that all he wants to do is nurse and sleep. As a matter of fact, if he is allowed to wake up fully, and a nipple is not in his mouth, he is liable to scream bloody murder.

My honey

So, in case you didn't know: I recently became a MOMMIE! I love, love, love him!
